Manurk Performing "Lately" @ Throwbacks

Last Night Viking Life Ent. and Manurk took me along for the ride and i really got a feel for the rap scene in Atlanta. I took a look behind the scenes at how Viking Life does business and supports their artist. I got to see one of their younger artist Manurk perform at Throwbacks on Old National in Atlanta. The level of support i saw for him was amazing and even more amazing was his talent. Manurk is a twenty year old rapper who commands the stage on his first ever solo song "Lately"

even with all the technical difficulties, he has the makings of a true star. Manurk is also a member of the group Officially Certified and with Beats made by Dj Tripp they continuosly go H.A.M in the A. But they aren't the only ones who put on for their city.

To Be Or Not To Be

When you fall in love with someone things tend to get complicated or maybe we don't notice the complications until the honeymoon phase is over and its always been complicated. Whatever the case is with love i know that i've had my share of heartache. I got married at 21 and it lasted for about 7 months and since then i don't think i've really updated my preferences. I still go for the same kind of guys cute face okay sex and top dog. I think i have some kind of complex where i want to help change everyone, when i really should just change myself. I ask myself, Self? aren't you tired of crying? why do you love him? but i never know. Am i tired? Does he love me back? But honestly its all irrelevent. The questions you should ask yourself are, Am i happy? Do i love me? and if you do love yourself are you acting like it? If you answered NO to 2 or more of these questions its time to reevaluate your life and your priorities. Thats why i decided its time to do something different because i love me but i'm not acting like it and i'm not happy. I want real love like they talk about in the Bible, but everyone says love is a game and frankly i don't know how to play. I guess i don't really like playing games with other peoples hearts because i don't want them to play with my heart. Thats why love is complicated but i will never give up hope that it exists. Until the day i find real love i will work on becoming a better person. To be or not to be in love i chose to be in love with myself. Maybe oneday i'll figure it out but as for now i'm just going to worry about me.

God Don't Make No Junk

Sometimes in life people put you down and try to make you believe you aren't good enough or as great as them. I'm here to say you are somebody because God says you are. There is no need to prove our worth to others. You may not be as rich, as smart, as tall or you may not have everything figured out but that doesn't make you any less of a person. God don't make no junk. Things of this world will soon fade away and all that will matter are the things you do for God. We have to stop trying to be someone that appeals to others who have no heaven or hell to put us in. Money can't buy love and you can't buy your way into heaven. Heaven isn't a hot night club where the cool people only get in, its a place for the humble, the meek and the righteous. People will keep you down if you let them, thats why you have to be strong and know who you are. Know that money, cars and clothes don't make the man, these things are just accessories meant to make us look good. There is more to life than looking like somebody, you should strive to be somebody so when all the worldly things fade away you will still shine. You are somebody if only you and God know it.

Pride is a Sin

Pride 

a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc.

In almost every list pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris, is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and the source of the others. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to acknowledge the good work of others, and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God). Dante's definition was "love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one's neighbour." In Jacob Bidermann's medieval miracle play, Cenodoxus, pride is the deadliest of all the sins and leads directly to the damnation of the titulary famed Parisian doctor. In perhaps the best-known example, the story of Lucifer, pride (his desire to compete with God) was what caused his fall from Heaven, and his resultant transformation into Satan. In Dante's Divine Comedy, the penitents were forced to walk with stone slabs bearing down on their backs to induce feelings of humility.

Humility (adjectival form: humble) is the quality of being modest, and respectful. Humility, in various interpretations, is widely seen as a virtue in many religious and philosophical traditions, being connected with notions of transcendent unity with the universe or the divine, and of egolessness.

Growing Up

An important part of growing up is learning to take responsibility for your actions and excepting the consequences. When we are kids our parents get blamed for what kind of people we are but when we become adults the blame is on us. When we are kids our parents teach us not to lie, to take responsibility for our actions, and except the consequences but somewhere along the line we forget. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, that's what Newton's law of motion says. No matter what we do in life it affects the people around us sometimes directly or indirectly. Although we maybe able to move on from our actions you have to think about the people you've hurt along the way and for those of us who don't think about that, well karma's a bitch. I've heard the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I've come to learn that there is no grey area in life. In life there is wrong, then there is right if you find yourself having to question things its probably wrong. I can't erase the past but there is always hope for the future. I was watching church on tv oneday and the preacher was talking about God blessing you and the devil giving you things you may percieve as a blessing and how to know the difference. The preacher said if anything goes against the word of God its not God's doing. Thats why we must be patient and wait on Jesus so that we may have things of substance, things that last. Ill gotten gains never prosper. A part of being responsible is working hard to gain the things you want in life no matter how long it takes, thats where faith comes in to play. We must first seek the kingdom of God and his Righteousness and all things shall be added unto you.

I Pray

God you know me better than i know myself so i pray that you remove any people or emotions in my life that shouldn't be there. I pray that when others lie on me and betray me that you bless them even in the moments when i can't see past the pain. I pray that you always love me even when it seems i may not love myself. God please know that i'm always trying to be better even when i talk and you've told me to be quiet. I pray that when everyone is against me that you still know who i am so i won't forget. I pray that you help me to accept the things i cannot change and forgive the ones who hurt me. I pray that when i can't find a friend you show what a friend is. I pray that when i can't stand you carry me. I pray that you hear my prayers through my endless tears. I pray that oneday none of this will matter and i won't have to cry. I pray that i learn to listen. I pray that you will never leave me alone. I pray that you forgive me for my sins and that i learn to forgive those who have trespassed against me. I pray that i learn regardless of what people say what God says is mine is mine. Amen
