Afraid To Love
Love is a scary thing, and we don't really know what it is. I mean how does love work? What makes you love someone? and why can't you stop loving people who dos are just lien't love you back? Love in my opinion sounds like an out of control emotion because so much of it depends on the other person. When the variables of a situation are unidentified you can't be sure of the outcome. I try to see people for who they really are and not who they pretend to be but its hard when everyone is trying to impress you by being whatever they think you want at the time. I've been fooled more times then I'd like to admit when it comes to love. All of my past experiences have changed me into a very afraid young woman. Being lied to, cheated on, talked down to and beat up changed my optimistic views on love. I sit around and wait for things to go bad and when things are good i sabotage it. For some reason i believe if i expect a man to mess up I'll never fully give him my heart that way when he does mess up i won't be surprised. This method helps me get over men and move to the next one quickly but it eventually makes you numb. I always feel like people want something from me and none of their feelings for me are genuine. I feel like everything a man says is just way to trick me into getting what they want and i'm not just refering to sex. I don't want to give people a chance to break my heart so i automatically expect the worst and if a man seems perfect i say its to good to be true. I know that i deserve better but i don't believe better exists. Back when i was 14 before i had my first kiss before i could date and i had just started high school i remember all i wanted was to get married and have kids, in that order. I wanted to marry my first boyfriend and live happily ever after and i thought it was that easy until i actually i had a boyfriend. Love isn't easy and its not just black and white. Even though love has let me down many times and i am afraid i don't let that stop me. I just keep winding up that jack in the box and i'm shocked everytime it pops up.

If At First You Don't Succeed....
If at first you don't succeed dust yourself off and try again. You must never give up because anything worth having is worth fighting for. The problem with people is that we want everything instant. No one wants to work for anything anymore they want everything handed to them. Even in relationships we want it easy and when it starts to get hard we jump ship. Nobody said life was going to be easy but i know God didn't bring me this far to leave me. Romans 5:3-4 says Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. James 1:12 says Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. You must perserve and work hard. Rome wasn't buildt in a day but it was one of the greatest civilizations known to man. Greatness doesn't just happen and you can't fake it. People will see your failures and make you believe your goals aren't possible but you only fail when you give up. What if when Micheal Jordan didn't make his school basketball team he quit playing basketball? What if when Einstein was labeled a dunce he quit thinking? You fail at things to prove how much you really want them when you continue to try. You can do or be anything you put your mind to. I'm sure Bill Gates didn't become a billionaire in a day and niehter will you. Keeping fighting for what you believe in and you can make your dreams a reality and when you fail just try again.

A Happy State Of Mind
Can you remember the last time you were happy? I mean really happy. Do you know what makes you happy? Does your happiness depend solely on you? Or does your happiness rely on others? Happiness is one of those things you either got or you don't. Life is all about your state of mind. The way you look at a situation can change the situation all together. You can't let your circumstances determine your mood. You must keep a positive outlook on life and believe that trouble don't last always. I take the bad times and perceiou.ve them as lessons, forcing myself to see the good in not so good outcomes. We can't change the past but positivity can ensure us a better future. I've discovered what it means to love, and how hate can consume us. I've lost friends that turned out to be enemies and i learned not to depend on others. I've given up on relationships that only hurt me instead of lifting me up and making me a better person. I've learned to love myself because i got tired of waiting on love to find me. I've changed for the better and the people i knew in the past who didn't i grew out of. People will try to pollute your mind and kill your spirit but you can't let them get the best of you. You know who you are and what you are capable of. You have to make yourself happy, when you are happy within your self people can't steal your joy because you've taken away their power to do so. Happiness and Sadness is a state of mind and we must be careful about the state our mind is in.

It Starts At Home
My father has been gone for about 10 years now but i still remember our time together like it was just yesterday. He really taught me how to believe anything was possible. My dad brought my first keyboard, sewing machine, type writer and took me to the studio for the first time. Anytime i changed my mind about what i wanted to be when i grew up he never discouraged me he just did his best to make sure i could accomplish my goals. When my father died i had to learn to believe in myself and it wasn't easy. Everyone else in my life didn't see my potential like he did but because i didn't want to let him down i kept going. I started writing songs for my church choir, joining plays in school, i was in drama and chorus. Sometimes i get sad because he wasn't there the first time i performed in front of a crowd, or for my first play but i feel like he can still see me and i want to make him proud. I say all this to make the point that character starts at home. Not only do we learn how to walk and talk from our parents but we learn so much more. I don't have any kids of my own but i do have a niece and three nephews. I know everyone has said or done something that their kid has mimicked and I'm sure its not always something good. We learn what type of people to be from our parents, and that includes how we handle situations. The the way we handle the things that happen in our lives determines the quality of life we will have. My parents taught me to trust in God and that is one of the most useful things anyone has ever taught me. My parents also taught me to have faith. To teach means to instruct by precept, example, or experience. We learn by seeing so we should make sure when people see us the content of our character is something worth imitating.
